Description Great War and Royal Fleet reserve medal group to Stanley Buchanan, Royal Marines Light Infantry. Buchanan was born 1898 in Chiswick, London. He enlisted at Chatham January 1916, aged 18 years. He was on the crew of H.M.S. Marshal Ney when she engaged German destroyers during a raid on Ramsgate on 27 April 1917, causing the German force to withdraw. He served on the Marshal Ney from 26th March 1917 to the end of the war. Medals – British War Medal and Victory Medal (CH. 20456 PTE. S. BUCHANAN.
