Restrike brass helmet plate for the 24th Regiment of Foot, famously associated with the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 and the heroic actions at Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. This reproduction faithfully replicates the Victorian shako plate cap badge design with the regimental number “24” pierced in the centre, encircled by a laurel wreath and topped with a Queen Victoria crown. This pattern was originally worn on the Home Service helmet as well as on the shako by British infantry regiments in the late 19th century.
