Description The Great War medal pair named to 39218 PTE. W. J. YOUNG. LAN. FUS. William John Young, ‘A’ Company, 1/7th Lancashire Fusiliers, was taken Prisoner at St Quentin, 21 March 1918. He was initially recorded as Killed in Action on this date. He was imprisoned at Cassel and Hameln, He was released 30th December 1918 having transmitted through Switzerland 13th September 1918 being interned there prior to returning to the UK. Born 1881. He was a shipping clerk in civilian life. His home address given in Norbury, London.
