18mm gilt officer’s button worn by the Indian Army Service Corps between 1923 and 1935, during the period following its redesignation from the Supply & Transport Corps and before the “Royal” title change in the 1935-pattern insignia. Description This finely made officer’s button features: The early “Indian Army Service Corps” circlet. Surmounted by the King’s Crown and “GRI” (George Regis Imperator), consistent with the period. High-quality brass construction. A domed profile with sharp detailing, characteristic of pre-WWII Indian Army officer dress accoutrements. Reverse fitted with a fixed shank and commonly a British or Indian maker’s mark (if present).
