Description JOANNES ANDERSON, John Anderson Medal named to Jessie Duce – Biology – 1942-43 John Anderson (1726-96) natural philosopher; he studied at Glasgow University and was Professor of Oriental Languages in 1756 and of natural philosophy in 1760. On his death he left all his apparatus and library for the foundation of an educational institution in Glasgow which bears his name. This medal is a prize medal of Anderson’s College, and being a prize medal is included here for the sake of completeness.
